These paintings are my all time favorites from a workshop. Just love the colors...love how they each turned out so different...but all sooo beautiful!
Here was our set up...
Sketching out our design-shapes only, not detail.
Baby wipes work well for mess ups.
Next step...add color
Now the fun part-details and flair!
Drum roll please...
This (above) was painted by a 6-year old...should have seen her sweet smile!
I love the color combos so much I was inspired to paint one myself.
This is in acrylic on a 16 x 20 canvas. If you are interested in purchasing it just email me.

Oh WOW. These are so fabulous!!!
These are AMAZING. I like the whole approach and the results are spectacular! A 6 year old?!!
I am so impressed! Will you share some of your directions for a project like this? I want to learn from you!!!
Thanks! Check out my post from last week (http://sleepyheaddesignsstudio.blogspot.com/2011/07/tips-for-painting-with-kids.html) It tells my method for painting with kids.
Your site is fantastic!! Thanks so much for sharing your superior artistic talents. I wonder if you could tell me what you have the kids sketch their design on the canvas with before they paint?-is it yellow paint or chalk? Just curious-as you seem to have them paint over it easily and it doesn't come through or resist paint as a crayon would. I appreciate you letting me know as I'd like to try my hand at your still lifes with my students here at the end of the year. Thanks
These are beautiful!
