It's so cold here, I had to think warm and sunny thoughts for awhile. Here's a great summer workshop painting project that introduces Van Gogh, still life and value. I let the students design their own vases for their sunflowers. I always have a vase of sunflowers for the students to view. We discuss lighting and shading. I premix the paints and have everyone work from the same color palate so I can demo the shading as we go along. These are always a favorite and the parents can't wait to frame them.

These are wonderful. I have just found your site recently and am enjoying all your wonderful projects. I really like that you have all the children working upright on easels. Could you please tell me where you found your easels? I have looked, but have not found any affordable tabletop easels that fit multi-sized "canvases". Thank you and I look forward to exploring your site even further. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Christina-I ordered the table top easels from Dick Blick. I do have to put a hard board behind larger canvases for support. Thank you for your comment.
Check my side bar for easels now-I found them on Amazon and the price is less expensive. You can purchase them by clicking on the link. Thanks!
